“We’ve proved in Seattle that socialist ideas and independent working-class politics can be victorious against corporate cash. When we fight, we win!” -Kshama Sawant
While corporations and politicians brag about the economic recovery, working people face rising housing costs, low-wage jobs and racist police violence. Capitalism is causing enormous hardship and destruction, but there’s good news. Socialist Alternative is growing rapidly after Kshama Sawant’s re-election in Seattle. We are building movements and independent political action that can win victories and lay the basis for fundamental change.
We are continuing the battle for a $15 an hour minimum wage across the entire country. We are building a movement in Seattle to tax the rich and fund transit, education and housing. We’re campaigning against racism, sexism, homophobia and environmental devastation. We initiated the Million Student March, which led to actions on over 100 college campuses against rising tuition, student debt and low wages. We’re fighting against all the injustices of capitalism and for a socialist future.
